The arsenal, which was initially controversial among the population, has existed in this form since 1968 and takes up almost 10% of the municipal area of Bure. Because of his civilian jobs, he is helping to stop the trend towards emigration from the region.
Equipment hall 14
Equipment hall 14 is a high-bay warehouse with 1500 spaces for Euro pallets . It is thirty meters long and eighteen meters high. Within six hours, six hundred AdA (members of the army) can be equipped with the necessary personal armament ( assault rifle 90 etc.) and equipment.

The barracks complex consists of four barracks buildings, named after four commanders-in-chief of the Swiss Army:
- Hans Herzog , Commander-in-Chief during the Franco-German War
- Guillaume-Henri Dufour , Commander-in-Chief during the Sonderbund War
- Ulrich Wille , Commander in Chief during the First World War
- Henri Guisan , Commander in Chief during the Second World War
A thousand recruits can stay overnight in the complex.
Control center
The control center consists of a hall (250 places) and Bat -rod. The IT platform for fighting in built-up areas (KIUG) was developed by RUAG and is considered one of the best in the world.
Officers accommodation
The officers are accommodated separately in the officers' quarters.
Armored hangars
The Bure arsenal has seven tank halls.
