Wahidi Balhaf

Wahidi Balhaf ( Arabic واحدي بالحاف Wāḥidī Bālḥāf ), or Sultanate of Wahidi Balhaf (Arabic: سلطنة الواحدي بالحاف Salṭanat al-Wāḥidī Bālḥāf ), was one of several Wahidi states in the Aden Protectorate of the British Empire . From 1963 it was a state within the South Arab Federation , after briefly (from 1959) it belonged to the Federation of the United Arab Emirates of the South . Within that state his name was Wahidi. Its capital was Balhaf on the Gulf of Aden . The city of Azzan in the interior also belonged to him. The sultanate became part of the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen in 1967 . The area is now part of the Republic of Yemen .

The Wahidi States

  • Wahidi Azzan : Wahidi Azzan, officially the Sultanate of Wahidi Azzan. It was founded in 1830 and existed until May 4, 1881 when it became part of Wahidi Balhaf.
  • Wahidi Bir Ali : Wahidi Bir Ali (Arabic: واحدي بير علي Wāḥidī Bīr ʿAlī), or also the Wahidi Wilayah of Bir Ali (Arabic: ولاية الواحدي بير علي Wilāyah al-Wāḥidī Bīr ʿAlīr). Its capital was Bir Ali on the Gulf of Aden. Head of state was a wali. The last Wali, Alawi ibn Salih ibn Ahmad Al Wahidi, was ousted in 1967.
  • Wahidi Haban : (Arabic: واحدي حبان Wāḥidī Ḥabbān), or also Sultanate of Wahidi Haban (Arabic: سلطنة الواحدي حبان Salṭanat al-Wāḥidī Ḥabbān). Its capital was Habban. His last sultan, Husayn ibn Abd Allah Al Wahidi, was ousted in 1967.
