Electoral party of the non-party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The electoral party of the non-party, which was founded under the full name "Free Styrian party of the non-party against party protection, tax overload and national fragmentation", was a group that had split off from the FPÖ in the 1950s . The electoral party of the non-party participated unsuccessfully in the state elections in Styria in 1957 and 1961.

The non-party electoral party emerged from the “non-party bloc” founded by Friedrich Janiba. This group was subsequently joined by the former Styrian FPÖ member of the state parliament Viktor Strohmeier , supporter of the former VdU member or FSÖ activist Fritz Stüber, as well as non-party Styrian trade unionists. As a result, the group around Strohmeier took over the party and gave the party an emphatic national orientation. Strohmeier justified his exit from the FPÖ-Styria with the leadership and mandate disputes within the party.

Strohmeier led the group as the top candidate in the state elections in 1957 , but clearly failed with 0.4% when it entered the state parliament. The remaining group, which took part in the state elections in 1961 as the “Electoral Party of Independents” (WDU), was only able to register 0.08%.
