Electoral district

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An electoral district is the smallest administrative unit provided for by the Austrian electoral law and corresponds to an electoral district in other countries.

In larger communities, the subdivision of the constituencies into electoral districts is intended to facilitate the voting process. The size of the ballot is based on the expected number of voters per hour. In communities with widely spaced districts, the subdivision into electoral districts is intended to shorten the way for the voter to reach the polling station.
