Misako Wakamiya

Misako Wakamiya ( Japanese若 宮 美沙子, Wakamiya Misako ; born June 23, 1989 in Tokyo , Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese table tennis player . She was runner-up with the team in 2016 .

Career

The Japanese made her first appearances at youth world championships. In 2007 she won bronze, among other things. In 2009 Wakamiya was able to take part in their first world championship, but failed there prematurely.

Due to good performances, she was able to qualify four times for the Pro Tour Grand Finals, in which she reached the quarter-finals in doubles. In 2011, 2013 and 2015 she was able to show this position at the World Championships.

In 2016 she became vice world champion with the team after a final defeat against China . After that, due to strong Japanese competition, she stopped performing internationally. Wakamiya took part in a total of five world championships .
