The Wakinga or Kinga are a Bantu ethnic group in southern Tanzania . Historically, they live in the Livingstone Mountains north of Lake Malawi . In the literature, the Lwembe cult of the ancestor Lwembe, who was revered as a divine king, is described above all . In 2003 the Wakinga numbered 140,000 people. Around 1920 the number was estimated at 20,000 people.
