Moqhaka ( English Moqhaka Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the district of Fezile Dabi , Free State Province in South Africa . The seat of the municipal administration is in Kroonstad . Pule Phooko is the mayor.

The community name is the Sesotho word for "crown".

In 2011 the community had 160,532 inhabitants. Of these, 87.3% were black, 9.3% white and 2.9% colored . The population decreased to 154,732 in 2016.

The first language was 69.4% Sesotho, 12.6% Afrikaans, 3.7% isiXhosa , 2.3% English and 1.1% each isiZulu and Setswana .
