Metsimaholo ( English Metsimaholo Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the district of Fezile Dabi , Free State Province in South Africa . The seat of the municipal administration is in Sasolburg . The mayor is Lindiwe Tshongwe.

Metsimaholo is the Sesotho term for a lot of water and refers to the large water resources in the municipality.

In 2011 the community had 149,108 inhabitants. 82.3% of these were black, 16.4% white and 0.7% colored . The population increased to 163,564 in 2016.
