Walburgis Chapel Fürth-Weschnitz

The Walburgiskapelle is an east above the Fürth local part Weschnitz preferred Chapel that the Holy Walburga is dedicated.

It is believed that it was built on the site of a pre-Christian sanctuary. A first building can be proven from 1671. A new chapel was built in 1815. In the years 1935 to 1937, the previous simple building was expanded to include a somewhat larger hall building in front of the original chapel. A special feature is the 17th century Walburga statue, which is located in the chapel. Behind the chapel is a place with a stone altar, which is used for pilgrimage services in the open air.

An important long-distance hiking trail, the Nibelungensteig, leads past the Walburgis Chapel .
