Waldbrücke is a district of the municipality of Weingarten (Baden) . With around 1000 inhabitants, it is a settlement clearly separated from the main town by arable land and a railway line.
history
After the end of the war, expellees from Transylvania came to Weingarten. They were given the opportunity to build a new settlement in the forest near Weingarten. The "old" part of Waldbrücke is still very much shaped by these buildings. The settlement was gradually expanded to the east, with a last major construction phase at the end of the 1980s, a provisional completion was reached east of the district road and the Weingarter Bach .
Sports areas
In the west of the settlement there are several tennis courts and a soccer field. The riding arena of the Reit.- Fahr und Zuchtverein Weingarten eV is located in the south. For future development, it is planned to dissolve the existing sports fields in the south-eastern part and to divide them into building plots.
To the northeast in the forest, between the settlement and the Weingarten quarry pond, is a modern outdoor gym (formerly known as the fitness trail).
