The Forest Park Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Non (Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park) ( Thai : วนอุทยาน ถ้ำ หลวง - ขุนน้ำ นาง นอน , literally as: Large cave - Mountain of sleeping woman ) is a forest reserve in the north of Thailand .

history

The Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Non was officially declared a protected area of ​​Thailand on October 1st, 1986.

Cave disaster 2018

In the Tham Luang Cave (located in the forest park, rising inwards) about 10 km long , a group of twelve young footballers between the ages of 11 and 16 and the 25-year-old coach accompanying them were thrown through after heavy rain on June 23, 2018 Including rise in water level. The Tham Luang - Khun Nam Nang Non extends in the limestone massif Doi Nang Non in the district of Amphoe Mae Sai in the province of Chiang Rai . It is part of the Pha Doi Nang Non National Reserve Forest.
