Waldsiedlung is a district of the municipality of Elsnig in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

The forest settlement is located northwest of the municipality of Elsnig and west of the federal road 182 on the eastern edge of the forest of the restricted area EBV Vogelgesang . This is also the eastern border of the Düben Heath . The route of the disused Pratau – Torgau railway line lies between the main road and the eastern edge of the forest settlement . The Elbaue begins east of the main road with its meadows and oxbow lakes, as well as the inflow of the Weinske into the river. In this rural area, the municipality of Elsnig connects to the east of the main road.
history
From 1930 the settlement was built as a residence for employees of the Elsniger WASAG ammunition factory and moved into in 1936. After the Second World War , dismantling began on the WASAG site, but it was never completed. The National People's Army of the GDR used the rest of the old plant. To this day it is a restricted area as an interim storage facility for old ammunition. At the time of the GDR, an agricultural engineering company was established at the entrance to the housing estate.
