Valery Vladimirovich Filippov ( Russian Валерий Владимирович Филиппов , also transcribed as Valerij Vladimirowitch Filippov ; born November 28, 1975 ) is a Russian chess master .

successes

Filippov has been a grandmaster since 1996 . In 2004 he took part in the FIDE World Chess Championship in Tripoli . There he failed in the third round to Alexander Grishchuk . His Elo rating is 2553 (as of July 2014), but he is listed as inactive because he has not played a rated game since a team tournament in Kemerovo in November 2010 . He reached his highest Elo rating in April 2004 with 2639.

Team chess

Fillipov took part in the 1998 Chess Olympiad in Elista with Russia's second team and in the 1999 European Team Championship in Batumi on the top board of the Russian team.

Fillipow took part in the Russian team championship eleven times between 1995 and 2006 (1995 and 1996 for Kuzbass-OSDYuShOR Kemerovo , 1998 for Jamal Nojabrsk , 1999 to 2003 for Tomsk-400 and 2004 to 2006 for Ladja Kazan-1000 ). Fillipow also took part in the European Club Cup eight times (with Tomsk , Gasowik Tyumen and Kazan ).
