Walid Soliman (Author)
Walid Soliman ( Arabic وليد سليمان) (Born April 11, 1975 in Tunis ) is a Tunisian interpreter and writer.
education
He studied in "Sadikia" (the first modern school in Tunisia, founded in 1875). After studying English language and literature, he graduated from the Tunis University of Linguistics with a degree in translation.
Translations into Arabic
Walid Soliman is a recognized figure in modern Tunisian literature. He was able to achieve a prominent position in Tunisian culture with his translations into Arabic of several famous works (by Jorge Luis Borges , Charles Baudelaire , Gabriel García Márquez , André Breton , Mario Vargas Llosa, among others ).
Translations into French and English
In addition to his translations into Arabic, Walid Soliman has translated several Tunisian and Arabic poets into French and English. He is currently preparing an “Antologie de la poèsie tunisienne” (in French).
Offices
Walid Soliman was president of the ATPCC (Tunisian Association for Film Criticism) and published several cultural articles in magazines. He also directs the on-line magazine DEDALUS, which he founded .
