The Walking Man is one of Jonathan Borofsky designed sculpture in Munich district of Schwabing .

The 17-meter-high and 16-tonne white sculpture has been standing on Leopoldstrasse in Munich in front of the entrance to the Munich Re insurance company , which financed the work as part of its art funding , since September 1995 . The figure is in the process of walking. The Walking Man consists of a steel structure manufactured in Los Angeles, United States. There it was dismantled into nine parts and transported by air freight to Munich, where it was reassembled. The plastic sheath consists of glass fiber reinforced plastic .
