Wallen (musician)

Wallen (born January 23, 1978 in Bobigny , France ; real name is Nawell Azzouz ) is a musician from France.

Life

Nawell Azzouz was involved in music from an early age, as her sisters played instruments. At the age of 8, she was enrolled in the conservatory by her family , where she played the violin. However, she was more interested in singing and contemporary music from America.

In 1996 Wallen met rapper Sulee B Wax , who drove her musical career forward. Her first single, Je ne pleure pas , was released in 1998. Wallen released her first album A force de vivre in 2001. A year later she was nominated for best album at the Victoires de la Musique . After this success her next album La vie devant soi was released in 2004. Her last album Miséricorde was released in 2008.

She has been married to the rapper and Slampoet Abd al Malik since 1998 and has three children with him.
