Wally Dressel
Marie Hedwig Wally Dressel (born June 3, 1893 in Magdeburg ; † June 10, 1940 there ) was a German swimmer .
Wally Dressel from Magdeburg DSC won the German championship title over 100 meters freestyle in 1909 and 1910 . In 1912, she took part in both women’s competitions at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm. About 100 meters freestyle she was eliminated in the semifinals. The German 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay consisting of Wally Dressel, Louise Otto , Hermine Stindt and Grete Rosenberg reached the finish in the final 11.8 seconds after the British Olympic champions, but had a 12.4 second lead over the third-placed Austrians .
