Walt Disney Imagineering

Walt Disney Imagineering ( WDI ) was founded as WED Enterprises (WED = Walter Elias Disney) on December 16, 1952 by Walt Disney . Walt Disney commissioned a group of animators from Walt Disney Studios to design and build the Disneyland Park.

In 1986, WED Enterprises was renamed Walt Disney Imagineering by Disney's then CEO Michael Eisner .
