Walter Burkhard (lawyer)

Walter Burkhard also Burkhard-Pahud (born September 8, 1910 , † April 1, 2004 ) was a Swiss lawyer .

Life

Burkhard received his doctorate in law from the University of Basel in 1934 . From 1939 to 1942 he was head of the political police . In 1942 he moved to the public prosecutor's office in the canton of Basel-Stadt . In 1955 he became a public prosecutor. From 1956 he was head of the criminal investigation department. In 1973 Burkhard was appointed First Public Prosecutor.
