Walter Fernández , full name Walter Rodrigo Fernández Giles , (born February 7, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.84 meter tall defensive player Fernández was at the beginning of his career from 2008 to the end of February 2014 in the ranks of the Club Atlético Progreso . Across the seasons he was there in at least 44 league games and scored at least three goals. In the 2012/13 season, including 21 completed games (one goal) in the Segunda División . From March 2014 he was active for Central Español and played in four encounters (no goal) of the Segunda División in the 2014 Clausura . At the beginning of August 2014, the Argentine club Guillermo Brown signed him . With the Argentines he completed ten games in Torneo Argentino A and scored one goal. In mid-September 2015, he rejoined Club Atlético Progreso, in whose team he was used in 14 league matches (no goal) in the second division season 2015/16. In the 2016 season he played nine personally goalless second division games.
