Walter II. Brisebarre

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Walter II Brisebarre († after May 1169 ) was Lord of Beirut in the Kingdom of Jerusalem .

He was the son of Guido I. Brisebarre and followed him after his death as Lord of Beirut.

Around 1156 he joined the Knights Templar and left the rule of Beirut to his brother Guido II Brisebarre . Within the order he soon held the office of preceptor, that is, he was head of a religious house, and at the latest in 1169 he also held the office of seneschal of the order. In May 1169 he signed a document as such for the last time and probably died a little later.
