Walter Pauly (lawyer)

Walter Pauly (* 1960 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German legal scholar.

Pauly was in 1989 at the University of Bonn with a thesis on contestability and binding effect of transfers in the federal commission on Bernhard Schlink doctorate . In 1993 he completed his habilitation at the University of Frankfurt am Main with a thesis on the change in methods in German late constitutionalism. He was appointed to a professorship at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 1993 and has held the chair for public law , legal and constitutional history and legal philosophy and dean of the law faculty at the University of Jena since 1998 .
