Walter Pektor

Walter Pektor (born September 20, 1945 in Salzburg ; † December 23, 1994 ) was an Austrian javelin thrower .

Career

On October 24, 1964, he improved the 22-year-old Austrian record of his father Erwin Pektor (born August 15, 1920) in Budapest with 71.31 m .

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he was tenth. In the qualification he set a national record with 82.16 m, which was only broken in 1998 by Gregor Högler .

He was Austrian champion nine times (1964–1968, 1971, 1974–1976).
