Walter Röll
Walter Röll (born May 10, 1937 in Berlin ; † December 25, 2016 in Trier ) was a German philologist .
Life
He received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg in 1962 and qualified as a professor in 1969 . In 1970 he was appointed to a full professorship for older German philology at the newly founded University of Trier . In 2002 he retired .
His research areas included the Gesta Romanorum , Oswald von Wolkenstein and old Yiddish lexicography .
