Walter Rau

Walter Rau (born August 20, 1939 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German foundation manager.

Life

In parallel to his professional training as a banker, Walter Rau studied at the Academy for World Trade and the HfB in Frankfurt am Main. Professional positions in the Dresdner Bank AG group led after stays in London and Zurich to the group subsidiary Hardy & Co Privatbankiers in Frankfurt and later back to the group until his retirement in 2003. In these positions he was the driving force behind various foundations and often took on the foundation administration. He has been married to Brigitte Rau, née Kratz (* 1944), since 1966 and has one daughter.
