Walter Traunspurger

Walter Traunspurger (* 1956 in Pfarrkirchen ) is a German zoologist . He is professor of animal ecology at Bielefeld University .

Professional background

Traunspurger studied biology from 1979 with a focus on botany and parasitology at the LMU Munich. From 1986 to 1989 he worked on his dissertation on "Systematics and ecology of the Nematoda of the Königssees ". One year after completing his dissertation, Traunspurger became laboratory manager for aquatic ecology and environmental chemistry at the Fraunhofer Institute Schmallenberg. From 1993 to 1998 he was a research assistant (assistant) for ecology at LMU Munich and was appointed professor to Bielefeld in 1998.
