Tiszaföldvár is a Hungarian small town in the county Kunszentmárton in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok .
geography
Tiszaföldvár extends over an area of 80.34 km². The city is located in the Észak-Alföld (Northern Great Plain) region on the central reaches of the Tisza and just under 30 km south of Szolnok .
history
The first written mention as Thyzafeudwar comes from the year 1467. In 1642 the first Calvinist sermon was given and in 1673 the first Calvinist church was built.
In 1886 Tiszaföldvár became a district seat.
313 citizens of the city died in the First World War. On April 30, 1919, Főldvár was occupied and sacked by the Romanian army. Between October 6, 1944 and January 6, 1945, the place was occupied several times by German and Soviet troops. In 1950 the district seat was moved from Főldvár to Kunszentmárton .
Tiszaföldvár received town charter on January 1st, 1993.

In 2001, 99% of the population was Hungarian, while 1% said they belonged to the Roma population .
