Walter Voss (politician, 1909)

Walter Voss (born November 2, 1909 in Herbede ; † November 4, 1963 ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1950 to 1954 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Walter Voss attended elementary school and then completed a commercial apprenticeship in hard coal mining between 1924 and 1927. He then worked as a commercial clerk at various industrial companies.

Voss had been a member of the mining union since 1925. After the Second World War he became a member of IG Metall and first chairman of the SPD local association Werdohl . In 1948 he became city councilor and parliamentary group chairman of the council of Werdohl, in 1950 he became deputy mayor. Voss was elected to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituency 125 (Altena-Land-Ost) in the second electoral term. He was an MP from July 5, 1950 to July 4, 1954.
