Rofen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rofen , Roofen or Rafen ( m. , Pl .; Sg .: Rafe ) are the inclined supporting beams that support the battens and roof skin in the roof structure of purlin roofs .

The arrangement and function of the Rofen correspond to the rafters of a rafter roof . In today's parlance, the roofs in the purlin roof are usually referred to as "rafters".

The roofs run from the foot purlin over the possibly existing central purlin to the ridge purlin, to which they are traditionally secured with a wooden dowel . In the case of steep roofs, the rooftops are also attached to the foot, intermediate and wall purlins with a dowel. The ovens can be laid broadly in order to obtain a better support surface.

Rofen can protrude over the purlin as a roof overhang.
