Walter Wehmeyer

Walter Wehmeyer (born December 25, 1962 in Aachen ) is a German filmmaker, author and film producer.

Life

After training to be an actor at the Stage School of Dance and Drama Hamburg, Wehmeyer graduated from the University of Television and Film Munich . He has been working as a freelance director since 1996, mostly in collaboration with ORF, 3sat, BR and Swiss television.

In addition to background documentaries in Kosovo, Rwanda and Israel / Palestine, he made artist portraits, including the soprano KS Hilde Zadek , the pianist and conductor Jean-François Antonioli and the Transylvanian writer Eginald Schlattner .

His first feature film " Lina " had its Austrian theatrical release on March 10, 2017. It tells of the short marriage of the actress Lina Loos to the Austrian architect Adolf Loos , between 1902 and 1905.

Walter Wehmeyer is married to the mezzo-soprano Christina Baader and has lived in Vienna since 2000.
