Walther Kaszelik

Walther Kaszelik (born before 1974) is an Austrian basketball official and referee.

career

Kaszelik was a referee in the basketball league from 1977 , and from 1982 he was also appointed referee by FIBA . He was active as a referee until 1997, in the same year he was awarded the title of "FIBA Honorary Referee". After completing his referee career, he started working as a technical inspector for FIBA ​​in 1998 and also carried out this activity in Austria. As a technical commissioner, he oversaw, among other things, the orderly progress of games at several European championships, such as the 2007 European Championship final, and of European Cup matches.

From 1997 to 2003 he was the chairman of the Austrian Basketball Association.

From 1998 to 2002 Kaszelik was a member of the youth committee of the European basketball association FIBA Europe , and between 2002 and 2014 he was a security advisor on the board of FIBA ​​Europe.

Professionally, he served as a police officer in the Vienna State Police Department from 1974 to 2016 .
