Walungu (district)

Walungu is a district in the province of Sud-Kivu , Democratic Republic of the Congo , which joins the Sud-Kivu district of Kabare in the north, Rwanda and the Sud-Kivu district of Uvira in the east, and the Sud-Kivu district in the south. Mwenga district and to the west to the Sud Kivu district of Shabunda .

In the Walungu district, MONUSCO blue helmet troops are stationed as part of one of the largest peacekeeping operations of the United Nations.
