Wanda Krahelska-Filipowicz

Wanda Krahelska-Filipowicz , pseudonym Alina (* 1886 in Sawejki at Ljachawitschy ; † 1968 in Warsaw ) was a Polish Sozialistin and PPS -Aktivistin and co-founder of Żegota .

In 1906 she was involved in the PPS attack on the Russian governor Giorgij Skałon and then had to flee to Galicia . From 1935 to 1939 she was the editor of Arkady magazine . In 1942 she and Zofia Kossak-Szczucka co-founded Żegota , an organization that saved around 75,000 Jews. She founded Projekt magazine in 1946 and headed it until 1956.
