Coats of arms and seals of the German cities, towns and villages

The large folio volumes of coats of arms and seals of the German cities, spots and villages by Otto Hupp were published from 1894 in Frankfurt am Main (Verlag von Heinr. Kellerer) and in Speyer (Issue 7, Palatinate Society for the Advancement of Science). The edition was 400 copies at a price of 30 gold marks per volume.

According to the publisher's advertisement (around 1911) the price was 30 marks for issue 6, and a subscription price of 24 marks was offered, issue 7 was also announced here, but it did not appear. The actually published issue 7 cost 60 RM and was probably delivered in 1930.

The publication was repeatedly delayed by financial problems. That is why only five of the planned ten (or eleven) issues appeared.

The booklet series is considered to be the forerunner of the coat of arms collection German local coats of arms of the Kaffee-Hag , Bremen. The heraldic brands, which could be collected in ten booklets, were also designed by Otto Hupp .
