Kędzierzyn-Koźle took over the coat of arms from the city of Koźle (Cosel). The coat of arms of Cosel dates from the 15th century.

The former coat of arms of the city of Sławięcice (Slawentzitz) was split. In the front field there was half a golden eagle on a blue background. In the back field there was a gold S on a red background.
