Sellin warm bath
The Warmbad Sellin is a listed building in the Ostseebad Sellin on the island of Rügen . Today it is the seat of the local spa administration .
It was built in 1906 on the initiative of the community leader Hermann Holtz as a community center with a warm bath. Offices were built on the ground floor and the mayor's apartment was on the first floor. 14 hot bathing cells were initially located behind it. A little later, a reading and music room and 16 additional hot baths were added to the front building.
The sentence above the representative column portal was originally to be read: Work is the citizen's adornment, a blessing is the price of the effort! . Today there is the name: Kurverwaltung . The Sellin local coat of arms can be seen in the cartouche above the portal. The head visible above the cartouche is supposed to bear the facial features of the former mayor Hermann Holtz.
