Warren Robinett (born December 25, 1951 in Springfield, Missouri ) is an American computer game designer who became particularly well-known for developing the game Adventure for the Atari 2600 game console . This game was the first version of a graphical adventure game . He is also the founder of The Learning Company (1980), in which he developed the game Rocky's Boots .

For Atari he also developed the slot Racers game and a BASIC module for the Atari 2600 console. Robinett is also considered to be the inventor of the Easter Egg . Since it was not customary at the time for the company to publish the name of the programmer of a game, Robinett developed a hidden place in Adventure and left the text "Created by Warren Robinett" there.
