The Wartburg radio is a community radio for Eisenach and the Wartburg region. The Wartburg radio went on the air on September 8, 2001 and is the youngest open channel in Thuringia. It is supported by the association "Offener Hörfunkkanal Eisenach eV", which is supported by the Thuringian State Media Authority (TLM).

At Wartburg Radio, people make radio programs on a voluntary basis and independently, and the program is correspondingly diverse. Music programs of every genre, radio plays, youth and children's programs, magazines with local and regional topics as well as concert recordings and live broadcasts of events from the region make up the station's program. The broadcaster pays the GEMA fees. The choice of music is free. The daily program is available on the broadcaster's website.
