Warwick Avenue is an underground station on the London Underground in the City of Westminster . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 2 at the intersection of Warwick Avenue, Warrington Crescent and Clifton Gardens. In 2014, 4.51 million passengers used the station served by the Bakerloo Line .

There is no actual station building; The platforms are accessed from two different entrances via a mezzanine floor with ticket offices. Warwick Avenue was one of the first London Underground stations to use escalators instead of elevators from the start . The unadorned tower of a ventilation shaft stands on a traffic island in the middle of the street.

The station was opened on January 31, 1915 as part of the commissioning of the line between Paddington and Kilburn Park . During the planning phase, the station name Warrington Crescent was planned.

Warwick Avenue is also a song by Welsh singer Duffy that was released in May 2008. In it she mentions the subway station: "When I get to Warwick Avenue ... Meet me by the entrance of the tube." (When I get to Warwick Avenue ... Meet me at the entrance of the subway.).
