The Wasp Point is a projecting point of land surrounded by the southwest coast of Thule Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1971 after the American sealer Wasp under Captain Benjamin Morrell (1795-1839) from Stonington , Connecticut , who had called Thule Island in 1823.
