The Thierfeld moated castle , also known as Wohl , is a lost moated castle at the southern exit of the Thierfeld district of the municipality of Hartenstein in the Zwickau district in Saxony .
The rather rural moated castle complex is located on the estate below the rectory of the Thierfeld church with the Barbara chapel, which is close by. It is not known to whom the castle provided protection. Small pottery finds indicate that it was founded in the 15th century.
The Burgstall (castle site) still shows the castle hill, which towers over the surroundings by around 1.5 meters and has a diameter of 15 meters, and the partially buried moat that is up to 6 meters wide . In the upper Thierfeld there is the stable of another moated castle, the moated castle Abbey Thierfeld .
