Watermill Rüting
The watermill Rüting is a listed watermill in the municipality of Rüting in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg .
The water mill is driven by the Stepenitz , which was dammed up here to form a mill pond for this purpose . A mill has been documented here since the middle of the 17th century. Around 1750 the residential and mill house were made of oak half-timbered with stone panels and a thatched roof . The mill had two grindings ( sight mill and rye mill ) as well as a pearl mill and an oil mill .
At the beginning of 1806 there was a fundamental renovation. The mill now had three gears and one oil gear. All corridors were driven by their own undershot water wheels in separate water channels.
In 1877 a fire interrupted the grinding operation. Complete rebuilding of the mill and storage facility. After that, the mill was in operation until the early 1970s.
In 1946 the mill received a Henschel-Jonval turbine from 1863 from Kuchelmiß .
The mill building is now a residential building. The Mahlarch was repaired in 2014 and a new overshot water wheel was installed as part of an educational trail for hydropower and nature conservation .
The listed mill ensemble also includes a warehouse and a stable building. An associated transformer house was demolished in 2003.
