A water sports shoe (also water shoe or aqua shoe ) is a special sports shoe for water sports . Compared to footlets from diving, it has a firmer shoe bottom , and compared to outdoor sandals, it protects the foot as a low shoe and offers a better grip. Visually, it looks more like a running shoe without a midsole and heel wedge, so that it fits into the narrow footwell of a kayak .
