The water tower Rheydt is in the district of Rheydt in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), Wickrather Straße 257th

The building was built in 1895. It was entered in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach under No. W 015 on October 14, 1986 .

The water tower stands in an exposed position on a hill between Rheydt and Wickrath , at the street meeting point Wickrather Straße - Reststrauch.

The water tower, built in 1895, consists of a substructure, shaft and head piece. Its height is 41.80 m, the base diameter is 13.5 m. The sloping 12 m high substructure is octagonal and tapers to a mighty cornice . This is where the shaft of the water tower starts. The capacity of the water tower is 600 cubic meters.

The water tower is of good structural quality. The building is worth protecting as a monument due to its decoration and design typical of the time, as well as for technical and historical reasons.
