Wassil Boschinow

Wassil Atanassow Boschinow ( Bulgarian Васил Атанасов Божинов ; * January 1 jul. / January 13,  1888 greg. In Chaskovo ; † November 16, 1966 in Prague ) was a Bulgarian composer.

Boschinow studied with Max Reger in Leipzig from 1911 to 1915 and lived in Prague from 1918. In 1934/35 he completed his composition studies at the Prague Conservatory with Alois Hába . He composed eight symphonies , the first of which is based on the quarter-tone system , the rest are dodecaphonic . He also wrote a fantasy for string orchestra, two violin concertos, 16 string quartets, three string quintets and piano pieces.
