Wat Chalong

Wat Chalong (in Thai : วัด ฉลอง ) is the largest and most prominent of the 29 Buddhist temples ( Wat ) on the island of Phuket ( Thailand ).

The temple is about 8 km southeast of Phuket Town on Road 4021. Two monks are venerated here who lived and worked during the period of the tin workers' uprising: Luang Pho Chuang and Luang Pho Chaem . Both were famous for their medical knowledge and skills. In a teak house attached to the wat , souvenirs of the two monks are kept, including a. robes worn by them as well as wax statues .
