Watch condition

Watch Condition , also abbreviated to WATCHCON , is a four-level alarm system of warning levels that is used jointly by the South Korean Armed Forces and the United States Department of Defense to coordinate the capacity of military intelligence . Basically it is used on North Korean affairs.

The four WATCHCON levels

  • WATCHCON 4 in effect in peacetime.
  • WATCHCON 3 in force when there are indications of a seriously threatening situation.
  • WATCHCON 2 in force when there are indications of a life-threatening situation.
  • WATCHCON 1 in effect in wartime.
