Waterbody Id (United Kingdom)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the United Kingdom , inland waters and their catchment areas are recorded with the Waterbody Id and their data can be called up in the Catchment Data Explorer .

As is customary with bodies of water , length specifications can include not only a watercourse or a section of a watercourse but also one or the other inlet.

The numbers rise and fall in the direction of flow.

Example of a sequence of numbers in Northumbria (for a better understanding, upstream sections of the same body of water are marked with ↑ and flowing waters with ←):

← GB103025072100 = Clow Beck from Barton Beck to Tees
← GB103025072040 = Barton Beck from Source to Clow Beck
← GB103025072060 = Aldbrough Beck from Forcett Park Catch to Clow Bk
↑ GB103025072190 = Tees from River Greta to River Skerne (with a tributary stretch)
