The Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanitarium Historic Buildings (also Waverly Hills Sanatorium ) in Jefferson County in Kentucky (USA) was a sanatorium and at the same time a psychiatric facility for the treatment of tuberculosis patients.

history

The sanatorium was built in 1910 according to the plans of the architects James J. Gaffney (1863-1946) and Dennix Xavier Murphy (1854-1933). It was closed in 1962. Popular was the construction of TV shows with paranormal topics haunted house (haunted house) or X-Factor: The true dimension of fear (Scariest Places On Earth). It appeared in this capacity on television programs on ABC / FOX, VH1 Celebrity Paranormal Project, Syfy's Ghost Hunters, Zone Reality's Creepy and on the British show Most Haunted . The facility has also been featured in several films, including the Death Tunnel filmed there in 2005 . The sanatorium is to be converted into a hotel, with some rooms being preserved as historical attractions.

On July 12, 1983, the Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanitarium Historic Buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places as a listed building .
