Wayne broom
Wayne Besen (born July 5, 1970 ) is an American lawyer who campaigns primarily for the rights of lesbians and gays . Besen was a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign for a while .
In 2000 Besen photographed ex-gay activist John Paulk in a Washington gay bar. Paulk insisted that he only used the toilet there, while Besen and other witnesses said he had a drink there and flirted with other men for over twenty minutes. Besen went public with this story and published it in his book Anything But Straight: Unmasking the Scandals and Lies Behind the Ex-Gay Myth , which was twice nominated for the Lambda Literary Award in 2003 .
